Healy Airport - Nehana River
 
It was about 300 miles or so from Fairbanks back to Wasilla, through lots of different terrain.  Here is flat meadow-like country.
   
Mountains visible in the distance.
   
Stopped at a Rest Stop on Highway Three.
   
We stopped to check out the Healy River Airport where a bunch of Fly Denali outfits operate out of.
   
This is a public airport.  Supposedly you can get Avgas here May through September.  I'm guessing it's going to cost you!
   
 
   
 
   
We stopped at an overlook of the Nenana River, south of Healy.
   
A good look at the Nenana River.   The river flows from the Nenana Glacier, on the south side of the Alaskan Range.  The water carries a cargo of rock flour, and is very cold.
   
I think I'll stay out of the water today.
